The Maestro is a climbing shoe designed specifically for traditional climbers. It incorporates cutting-edge technology while maintaining a flat and neutral shape with a medium-angled toe box. Crafted in Asolo, Italy, it's ideal for multi-pitch and traditional climbing.
Features:
- UPPER: The shoe features a multi-panel upper with three sections for a custom-molded fit. It combines microfiber and leather with air holes, ensuring long-term wear comfort. The tweaking lace system allows for precise adjustment across the top of your foot.
- INSOLE: A full-length Janus 1.1mm plastic insert is shaped to evenly distribute force throughout the entire foot. It also maintains torsional rigidity, making it perfect for continuous micro foothold use.
- ACTIVE RANDING: The IPC-Tension active randing system offers integral foot support under pressure while retaining flexibility for smearing.
- SOLE: The Maestro is equipped with a 4mm XS Edge full-length sole for superior grip, complemented by a 2mm XS Grip 2 heel underlay.
For the best performance, climbing shoes should fit tight but not painfully so. A proper fit will help you climb harder and longer.
Experienced climbers strongly disagree on how tight is "tight" and what "comfortable" actually means. Combine this with the fact that all feet are different and that each brand has slightly different sizing standards, and you will understand why it is very hard to give proper advice on climbing shoe sizes. Even sizing recommendations based on your street shoe size will always be hit or miss... but mostly miss.
Having said that, if you're a beginner, expect your climbing shoes to feel much tighter than your street shoes. Do yourself a favor and start with shoes from our comfort range! Your second or even third pair will be smaller, and that's totally ok.
We realise this might not be the shoe size advice you were expecting, but the best we can do is being honest 🙃
This chart is our best shot at an average between the conversion rates used by the different climbing shoe brands, including: Boreal, Scarpa, La Sportiva, Butora, Evolv, Mad Rock, Ocun, Red Chili, Tenaya, Five Ten/Adidas, and Black Diamond.
