The Makita battery charger features an LED display that indicates the status of the batter.

4 LEDs on = 75-100%.
3 LEDs on = 50-75%
2 LEDs on = 25-50%.
1 LED is lit = 0-25%.

The first bar flashing indicates that you need to charge the battery. If four bar flash two by two, then there may be a fault with the battery.
